Our time at Bacon Arms was quite enjoyable due to its fantastic location right in the town center. The staff were super friendly and accommodating, making us feel welcome from the start. The room was clean, comfortable, and perfect for our stay. there were a few issues. The shower pressure left a bit to be desired, and we found the bar closed earlier than expected, limiting our ability to unwind after a long day. the bathroom curtain had seen better days and needed a good wash. Despite these minor inconveniences, we still appreciated the overall atmosphere. Breakfast was lovely, and we particularly liked the local vibe in the beer garden. All in all, the welcoming environment and great location made it a pleasant stay.

Great spot for a quick stay

I rolled into this place on short notice, and honestly, it was way better than I expected. The parking was there, just not super clear where to go. No breakfast, but who needs that anyway? Newbury is a cool little town to explore. One bummer, though—the decor could use some updating.

The room was spacious and the beds were incredibly comfortable, leading to one of the best night's sleep I've had. The full English breakfast was delightful and served promptly, which was ideal for my early start. the bar closed earlier than expected, and accessing my room involved navigating around the back of the pub, which could be inconvenient. Plus, while the property has charm, the outdated decor is a bit lacking in modern amenities.

Exceptional service and delightful stay.

I stayed in the Standard Double Room for one night. It was comfy, which was a big plus. The shower had great pressure and hot water. Just wished the heating could be managed better because it felt a bit too warm at times. The cleanliness was on point, and I liked the size of the room. Really close to the center too, so that was nice for getting around. pretty good stay!
